The vehicles caught fire after the collision. “We counted 19 bodies. Their identification will require some time, since they were charred,” summarized Sarah Quinones, the attorney general in the state of Sinaloa.
“When we have the details of the dead, we will make them public,” he added.
The 22 injured were offered medical treatment, the prosecutor’s office added.
The bus had left Guadalajara and was bound for Los Mochis, in Sinaloa, a state known mainly for being a stronghold of drug traffickers.
