Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman warns of ‘danger of war and conflict spreading across region’

In a statement, Nasser Kanaani, a spokesman for Iran’s foreign ministry, said the strikes were “a violation of the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Iraq and Syria, as well as international law, and a flagrant violation of the United Nations Charter.”

“The Islamic Republic of Iran once again emphasizes the responsibility of the international community and the United Nations Security Council to prevent the illegal and unilateral attacks of the United States in the region and limit the spread of the crisis,” he notes.
On Friday night the US held a wave of airstrikes against the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and Iran-backed militias in Iraq and Syria after a drone strike killed three American soldiers in Jordan late last month.
