With their symbolic presence at the Sanremo Italian Song Festival, the farmers of the tractor movement want tonight to take part in the third night of this musical competition, broadcast live by Rai public television, to present their demands.

At Sanremo, outside Genoa, seven tractors have so far arrived. Following the relative invitation of Amadeus, presenter and artistic director of the Festival, the farmers are expected to be able to go up to the stage of the Ariston theater, or connect from the main street of the city, during the third evening of this musical appointment .

In the meantime, tomorrow, Friday, a farmers’ demonstration will be organized in the Italian capital, in the central square of San Giovanni in Lateran. The mobilization will take place after a dialogue with the police authorities and the prefecture, and the organizers have made it clear that “despite some unavoidable inconvenience, they do not intend to paralyze traffic throughout the Eternal City.” According to information, about 1,500 farmers are likely to take part in this new protest, but with only ten tractors.

Next week, finally, a new mass demonstration is expected to be organized in the center of Rome, possibly at the Circo Massimo, a short distance from the Colosseum.
