Iran’s foreign minister said today during a visit to Lebanon that a political solution is the only way to end the conflict in Gaza, and that Tehran is holding talks with Riyadh on the issue.

Hossein Amir-Abdollahian also warned Israel against taking any steps towards a full-scale war against Lebanon, stressing that this would be the “last day” of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

The head of Iranian diplomacy also said his country exchanged messages with the United States during the conflict following Hamas’ attack on Israel on October 7, and messages about the Lebanese armed group Hezbollah.

“During this war and in recent weeks, there has been an exchange of messages between Iran and America,” he said, adding that the United States had called on Tehran to ask Hezbollah “not to become widely and fully involved in this war against” of Israel.
