With the slogan “#Togetherland (#Zusammenland) – Diversity makes us strong”, German media and 500 companies, foundations and associations are launching a campaign against the far right.
The newspapers ‘Die Zeit’, ‘Handelsblatt’, ‘Süddeutsche Zeitung’, ‘Tagesspiegel’, the financial review ‘Wirtschaftswoche’ and the advertising agency ‘Ströer’ are leading the campaign, stressing that all participating organizations ‘are clearly committed to the values of freedom, diversity and the culture of hospitality”.
From tomorrow, full-page newspaper ads will be published, outdoor advertisements will be placed, and corresponding material will be posted on social media.
In their relevant announcement, the editors also point out that “cosmopolitanism, respect and community are values that make Germany not only a country worth living in, but also an economically strong country” and underline that “this is why we are united, for an open country that faces difficulties with courage.”
In order for these media to attract as many companies as possible to participate, the publishers offer free inclusion of their logos in the posts.
In return, companies and organizations are asked to support charitable projects or take internal action. The value of the advertising space offered amounts to several million euros.
