THE Dutch Government announced today that from February 25 are removed almost all restrictions imposed on the country to address it pandemic of Covid-19, as there is a reduction in hospitalizations and infections.
Bars and restaurants will therefore be able to return to their opening hours before pandemic. The protective mask is also removed in most public places, as well as the rule for keeping distances.
THE Netherlands had imposed harsh restrictive measures τον December, when an eruption of cases due to the Omicron variant was recorded. Gradually, however, he abolishes them.
“The country is reopening,” Health Minister Ernst Kuipers told a news conference. On February 25, “we will return to normal business hours,” as it was before the pandemic, he added, referring to bars and restaurants.
“Masks will not be mandatory, except on public transport and at airports,” he said. “It would be wise to keep your distance and wear a mask, but there is no obligation” for such a thing, he stressed.
Kuipers warned, however, that “the pandemic is not over” and that vulnerable people should continue to be vigilant.
