Queen Elizabeth will pay part of the settlement for the lawsuit of sexual abuse against Prince Andrew, which will cost about 12 million pounds, according to the Daily Mail.
The Duke of York’s mother is said to be helping pay for the settlement, which was agreed between him and Virginia Roberts’s lawyers on Tuesday.
Andrew had previously tried to challenge Roberts, who had allegedly been forced to have sex with the Duke three times when he was 17 under Jeffrey Epstein.
Roberts, however, recently said she had lost the original photo with the prince as evidence.
Although the prince insisted on his innocence all the previous time, he finally agreed to pay the settlement.
According to the Telegraph, the total amount that the victim will receive will actually exceed 12 million pounds.
The agreement, however, did not contain a formal acknowledgment of responsibility from Andrew, or an apology. He also said that the prince had admitted that Miss Roberts, now 38, had been subjected to “unjust public attacks” and that he had never intended to “defile her character”.
The terms of the agreement remain a strict secret.
