On the first flight of KAAN but also to Turkey’s defense industry in general, the Turkish president said in a speech today, Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
“Our KAAN has reached the skies,” the Turkish president said and added: “Our first 5th generation fighter has successfully made its first flight. It is the result of 15 years of effort and actions, and with his flight yesterday he overcame a critical turning point. If God wants at the end of 2028 we plan to integrate KAAN into our Air Force. See beauty! Look! Let them keep saying we won’t make it” the Turkish president said characteristically, according to what he broadcasts the correspondent of SKAI from Istanbul, Manolis Kostidis.
“Last year we exported 5.5 billion dollars worth of defense industry products. We are one of the 10 countries in the world that builds its own warships. We don’t just design and build our ships, we also develop and use their weapon systems as well as their sophisticated radars” the Turkish president pointed out at the same time.
