According to the magazine Der Spiegel, such flights are usually followed by airstrikes, which is why it was decided that Ms. Burbock and her colleagues would be removed
The foreign minister Analena Burbok recently cut short her visit to the southern Ukrainian city of Mykolaiv prematurely when it was discovered that her mission was followed by a Russian reconnaissance drone, a representative of the federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced a while ago.
Previously, it had been requested by members of its delegation to hurry back to the mission’s armored vehicles, while they were preparing, together with the minister, to visit the city’s aqueduct. According to Der Spiegel magazine, such flights air raids usually follow, and for this reason it was decided that Mrs. Burbock and her associates should be removed as soon as possible. The Russian drone continued to follow the cars in motion for a while and an alarm sounded in Mykolife, but ultimately without an attack.
The town of Mykolife is near the front and at the beginning of the war its port was one of the first targets of the Russian forces. Ukrainian forces have so far been able to successfully defend themselves, but recently the area has come under frequent drone and rocket attacks. The port remains closed due to the war.
Last night Analena Burbok had to stay for 20 minutes in a shelter in Odessa, after an air raid alert. An explosion followed near the city, but it is not known what was the target or whether there were any casualties. Ahead of the Foreign Minister’s visit, four people were killed and many more injured in two Russian drone attacks in Odesa.
