Tom Kingston, a member of the British royal family, died of a head wound on Sunday night, with a pistol lying near his body.
His announcement death of the 45-year-old stockbroker, husband of the 42-year-old second cousin of King Charles, Lady Gabrielacame shortly after the memorial service in Windsor for former King Constantine last Tuesday.
The police had said that the death is not being treated as suspicious.
This was reiterated at today’s opening of the coroner’s proceedingswith the chief medical examiner Katie Skerrett na reveals, however, the unexpected circumstances of deathwhich probably refer to suicide.
As the coroner said, “Mr Kingston was visiting his parents’ home in the Cotswolds. On February 25, he had dinner with his parents.
His father went outside to walk the dogs. Upon his return Mr. Kingston was not at home and after about 30 minutes his mother went to look for him. His father broke down the door of a locked outbuilding when he got no answer. He found Mr Kingston dead with a massive head injury. A gun was present at the scene. Emergency services were called. The police have determined that the death did not occur under suspicious circumstances.”
Lady Gabriella’s parents Prince and Princess Michael of Kent attended Tuesday’s memorial service for Constantinethat is, shortly before the news became known.
Tom Kingston has also been close friends with Kate Middleton’s sister Pippa for years.
