Turkey will tighten the cordon around the rebels of the Kurdish organization PKK in Iraq and the problem will be finally solved this summer, he clarified Recep Tayyip Erdogan, statement interpreted as foreshadowing the escalation of military operations.

Specifically, after the cabinet meeting, the Turkish president said: “We are ready to close the cordon that will secure our border with Iraq. God willing, we will have finally resolved the issue on our border with Iraq this summer. We urge everyone in the area to respect our security strategy, which we have clearly outlined to them. Otherwise, they themselves will be the cause of the tensions that will arise.”

He also mentioned that his country is making preparations “which will become new nightmares for those who believe that Turkey will be brought to its knees by a terrorist state along its southern border.”

Referring to the war in Gaza, Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that the first building of a Jewish settlement would in itself be enough to show that the cause of this atrocity is nothing else, “but only theft, immorality and dishonor”.

At the same time, he also referred to the Turkish defense industry, saying that Turkey is in the top three export positions in the world in the technology of armed drones and at the top of their exports. Last year alone, exports of drones amounted to $1.8 billion, the Turkish president said.
