Israeli soldiers shot and killed a Palestinian man in the occupied West Bank today after he stabbed a colleague, seriously wounding him, the Israeli armed forces (IDF) said in a statement.
The incident occurred in the city of Howara and was the latest in a series of bloody incidents in the West Bank since the outbreak of war in the Gaza Strip five months ago.
According to the IDF update, soldiers killed a Palestinian who launched a knife attack. It is noted that one soldier was seriously injured and taken to a hospital.
Palestinian health authorities later announced that a 16-year-old boy was killed in the incident.
The bloody incident came a day after Israeli soldiers killed a 16-year-old in Ramallah and a 10-year-old boy in the village of Burin during operations in the West Bank.
Since early October, at least 358 Palestinians have been killed by the Israeli army and settlers in the West Bank and East Jerusalem, according to UN figures. In the same period, 12 Israelis have been killed in Palestinian attacks.
