Biden said in his State of the Nation address yesterday that he ‘will not bow to Putin’
Dmitry Medvedev, an ally of Russian President Vladimir Putin, called US President Joe Biden a “disgrace” to the US today.
In fact, as he himself commented, Biden has no right to compare himself to Franklin Roosevelt.
Biden began his State of the Nation address yesterday with a reference to Roosevelt’s 1941 speech to Congress in which the late president said the union was facing an unprecedented turning point in history.
Biden also accused Republican rival Donald Trump of kowtowing to Russia, and just over two weeks after calling Putin a “crazy bastard,” he said he has a message for Putin on Ukraine: “We’re not going to give up.”
“Although Roosevelt was a broken man, in a wheelchair, he got America out of the Great Depression. Biden, on the other hand, is a crazy, mentally retarded man who is determined to drag humanity into hell,” he wrote in platform X Medvedev, former president of Russia and currently vice president of the Russian Security Council.
“Roosevelt along with allies, among them the USSR, was fighting for peace. In contrast, Biden is determinedly and persistently trying to start World War III. Roosevelt was fighting against fascists, but Biden is fighting for them. It is the disgrace of the US,” Medvedev, who appeared as a liberal modernizer when he was president from 2008-2012, but now appears as an anti-Western Kremlin hawk, wrote in English.
Diplomats say his views are an indication of the thinking at the highest levels of the Kremlin’s elite.
The war in Ukraine has sparked a deep crisis in Russia’s relations with the West, and Biden has angered Russian officials by calling Putin a “crazy bastard.”
