Five people were killed and ten others were injured today when humanitarian aid boxes fell during an air operation in Gaza Cityas it became known from a hospital source.

The accident occurred in the Al Shati refugee camp, west of Gaza City, said Mohammed Al Sheikh, the head of nursing at Al Shifa Hospital’s emergency department.

“When the planes started dropping the cargo, my brother and I went to the area hoping to get a sack of flour,” said Mohammed al-Woul, a 50-year-old resident of the camp. But the parachute didn’t open and the box fell like a rocket on the roof of a house,” he explained. Wool said he then saw people carrying three dead bodies. He also saw injured people among those who had climbed onto the roof of the house to collect humanitarian aid.

For several days now, the US and other countries, such as Jordan and France, have been dropping food into the Gaza Strip.
