French President Emmanuel Macron during a telephone conversation with his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelenskiy on Sunday assured him that he will take international initiatives to increase the ability of the Ukrainian armed forces to strike enemy targets “in depth”, while at the same time, he underlined the need to continue, under the auspices of the USA and France, international consultations within the framework of the “artillery for Ukraine” alliance.

According to an Élysée press release, the two presidents discussed the latest developments in the Ukrainian issue as well as the course of implementation of the priorities agreed upon during the international conference held on February 26 in Paris.

They agreed to be in touch ahead of the French president’s visit to Ukraine, which is expected to take place within weeks.
