Ten people were injured in the Russian raid on Kiev in the early hours, as announced by the mayor of the Ukrainian capital Vitali Klitschko. Residents of Kiev fled for protection in the subway.

“The injured increased to 10 as a result of the attack of the enemy,” Vitali Klitschko reported via Telegram. Two of the injured were taken to hospital.

Earlier, he announced that “rocket debris” fell in city districts, in apartment buildings and other buildings, among them a nursery school, as well as industrial facilities, emphasizing that at least one apartment in an apartment building was on fire, as well as “vehicles”. He assured that the anti-aircraft defense took action to repel the raid and that the fire department rushed to various parts of the city to put out fires.

An AFP journalist heard about ten explosions from 05:00 (local and Greek time) onwards, as well as Ukrainian air defense fire.

The most recent large-scale bombing of the Ukrainian capital by the Russian armed forces was attempted in late January.
