Ukraine link sought – Watch video of suspect’s interrogation – Moscow does not confirm ISIS claim of responsibility, insists four attackers planned to flee to Ukraine
The four men arrested as perpetrators of Friday night’s terror attack at a concert center in a suburb of Moscow are all foreign nationals, the Russian Interior Ministry spokesman made clear.
The four men were located and arrested near the border with Ukraine. The Kremlin maintains that they had planned to flee to Ukraine, hinting at a possible connection to Kiev due to the ongoing war between the two countries.
Islamic State has claimed responsibility for the terrorist attack, but Moscow refuses to confirm it, turning its attention increasingly to Ukraine. Kiev insists it is not related to the terrorist attack on City Hall Crocus, while the US also said it has no evidence of Ukrainian involvement.
Video of suspect interrogation
Earlier, Russian media presented a video of a suspect’s interrogation. The suspect in the interrogation video can be seen answering a series of questions in heavily accented Russian. He says he left Turkey on March 4 and received instructions from strangers via Telegram to carry out the attack in exchange for money.
The man can be seen shaking during the interrogation. He is initially seen lying face down with his hands behind his back and his chin resting on the boot of a man wearing a camouflage uniform. Later, he is on his knees.
Another man with cuts and bruises on his face can be seen being questioned through an interpreter while sitting on a bench handcuffed.
