Two women from Florida, USA, are trying to set a new Guinness world record by driving 804 kilometers in children’s cars.

Cassie and her friend, Lauren, have been documenting their adventures on social media since they set off from Jacksonville on their kids’ car trip.

The women aim to reach Point Buoy, the southernmost point in the continental US, in Key West in about two months.

The Guinness World Records organization, they pointed out, does not currently have a record holder for the longest distance traveled by a toy car and approved their application to be the first in that category.

“It came as a crazy idea because we’ve had these cars since we were kids,” Lauren told WJXT-TV.. “We used to drive around in toy cars as kids and always wanted to do a Guinness World Record attempt. So we think this will be a fun way to celebrate our childhood,” he added.

At the same time as the record attempt they are raising money for animal charities such as the Red Panda Network in Nepal, the Costa Rican Animal Rescue Center and the Wild Bird Sanctuary in Missouri.
