Johnson: West needs unity to avert catastrophic Russian invasion of Ukraine

Johnson made the remarks before attending the Munich Security Conference, which is dominated by the Ukrainian crisis and Western concerns that Russia is going to invade her neighbor.

“I will call for unity in the face of a possible Russian attack on Ukraine. “And this unity is absolutely necessary if we are to prevent what I consider to be an absolutely destructive act by Vladimir Putin,” Johnson said in a video posted on social media.

The office of the British Prime Minister announced that (Johnson) will send a similar message in his speech before the Conference and that while he is in Munich he will meet with many European partners to discuss their response to the Ukrainian crisis.

The leaders of the Moscow-backed separatists in the east Ukraine They announced a full military mobilization today, a day after they asked women and children to evacuate the area and take refuge in Russia, citing the threat of an impending attack by Ukrainian forces.

The Kiev denies the accusation and Washington has claimed that it is part of Russia’s plan to create an occasion for invasion of Ukraine. Moscow denies any plans to invade.
