“Her priority was to protect her three children. He didn’t want them to go to school and be asked even more than they already were.”said Ms. Newton.

And according to the Times, a factor that contributed to the decision of the Princess of Wales to share her cancer diagnosis was the warm and supportive reception that had been received by the public when the corresponding announcement from Buckingham Palace about the cancer diagnosis of King Charles, in beginning of February.

“In a way (the king announcement) provided a template. For the king the issue was how to act quickly to share the information with an audience of millions, while for the princess the primary audience was her three young children and a message she had to handle with sensitivity at the right moment before sharing it with the general public”a Palace source told The Times.

According to the same publication, despite the initial reservations of his advisors, Charles is “pleased” to share his adventurejudging by the “overwhelmingly positive” reception.

Moreover, in a rare interview with an Australian channel, the king’s nephew and son of Princess Anne Peter Phillips revealed that his uncle is “very disappointed that he just can’t do everything he wants to be able to do”.

Mr. Phillips commented that King Charles “he’s always pushing his staff and everyone, his doctors and nurses, to be able to say ‘can I do this, can I do that?’ I think the overall message would be that he obviously very much wants to return to some type of normality and he’s probably disappointed that the recovery is taking a little longer than he probably would have liked.”
