Air defense systems they shot down 16 Ukrainian targets above the Belgorod in southern Russia, with no injuries reported, the governor announced Wednesday night Vyacheslav Gladkov.

The governor said on the Telegram messaging app that the attacks broke windows and caused other property damage in several parts of the city, including two schools and four educational institutions.

“In the city of Belgorod, as a result of an air strike by the Ukrainian Armed Forces, windows were broken in 26 apartments of 12 apartment buildings. There is damage to health institutions” mentions among other things.

There was also property damage on the outskirts of the city.

Photos posted on social media show a car on fire and a fire in a yard.

Ukraine in recent weeks has frequently launched airstrikes against Belgorod and two neighboring Russian regions, of Bryansk and Voronezh. Incursions by armed men from Ukrainian territory were also reported.
