The report outlines the progress made under the ‘long-term vision for rural areas’
The European Commission has today published a report outlining the progress made on the EU’s long-term vision for rural areas. The report highlights the positive results achieved from 2021 to date and presents ideas for future work.
The report outlines the progress made under the ‘long-term vision for rural areas’, which aims to support more connected, resilient and prosperous rural areas and communities.
30 actions are presented in various policy areas, nine of which have already been completed.
The report emphasizes that strong participation at national, regional and local levels is necessary to achieve positive results.
It also identifies actions, within the framework of the EU’s agricultural action plan, where further efforts are needed — and others that need to be followed up — in order to achieve the overall objectives.
The report is forward-looking: taking stock of the contribution of the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) and Cohesion Policy 2023-2027 to the rural vision, it presents the ideas of EU institutions and stakeholders on how support could be strengthened in the future.
