The scaffolding has started to move away and a new top is already visible
On December 8, 2024, the famous Notre-Dame de Paris, the iconic cathedral in the center of the French capital that, on April 15, 2019, was almost completely destroyed by a major fire, is scheduled to open to the public – worshipers and visitors alike.
The restoration work is on schedule and every day, hundreds of workers are at the construction site, struggling to rebuild the temple.
The scaffolding that surrounds much of the cathedral’s facade is slowly coming away and a new top is already visible.
Since the fire of 2019, a significant part of the roof of the church and the Gothic arrow collapsed, while the interior of the church suffered serious damage as a result of which several relics were destroyed.
The flames burned the temple for 15 hours and the images of the apocalypse went around the world.
The cause of the fire has not yet been confirmed. It has been said that it may be connected to the renovation work that was taking place in the building as an urgent appeal reported that the building needed maintenance and restoration work.
