There was a party in X, with users on social media blasting the former US president for his attitude
Started yesterday at New York the historical criminal trial of Donald Trump, charges of falsification of documentsin order to hide the money he paid to buy the silence of former porn star Stormy Daniels, before the 2016 election.
Trump became the first former US president to be tried in a criminal court in the middle of his election campaign but he appeared in court stern, provocative even… sleepy.
Trump, 77, entered the courtroom and sat down deadpanchatting with his legal counsel, ignoring District Attorney Alvin Bragg.
In fact, during the hearing, Trump seems that fell asleep 2 times inside the hall and his images went viral.

As it was expected, X had a party, with social media users blasting the former US president for his stance, with the hashtags #SleepyDon and #SleepyDonald trending for hours.
“I have never heard of an accused falling asleep during his triallet alone on the first day”wrote indicatively Preet Bharara, former prosecutor in the Southern District of New York, whom Trump had fired.
I’ve never heard of a defendant falling asleep at his own trial, let alone on the first day

Although the case is considered by some jurists to be the least important of the four criminal trials he facesis the only one that is certain to go to trial before the Nov. 5 election.
Trump has pleaded not guilty. If found guilty, he could still run for president, but a Reuters/Ipsos poll showed a guilty verdict would hurt his chances of being elected.
The businessman-politician used his previous appearances in courts to rally his followers and declare that he is being persecuted by his political opponents.
