H Hamas praise him Recep Tayyip Erdogan for his stance and for the statements he made to the Parliamentary Group of his party regarding the defense of the Palestinians and the organization itself, Turkish media reported.

Earlier, Mr Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidanmet in Qatar with the head of the Hamas Politburo, Ismail Haniyeh, and his associates.

“We value the attitude of the brother of the president of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan on the struggle of the Palestinian people for the freedom and liberation of their land” Hamas said in a statement, as noted by Turkish news websites, adding that it appreciates and feels proud of the Turkish president’s statement that Hamas is what Kemal Ataturk’s Turkish forces were during the Asia Minor War, arguing for a once again that this is not a terrorist organization.

Specifically, during his speech, Tayyip Erdogan said: “I say very clearly and openly that Hamas is exactly the same as the ‘National Forces’ in Turkey during the ‘national struggle’.”

In the written statement of Hamas it is also noted: “President Erdogan’s courageous statements and honest stance embody the historical and unique position of the brotherly Turkish people. Our people will fondly remember these statements as a courageous voice for the attitude towards our people in the Gaza Strip and their struggle to support the right of our people to liberate their land, and to return to it as well as to establish an independent state with Jerusalem as its capital”.

During today’s speech to the Parliamentary Group of the Justice and Development Party (AKP), the Turkish president said, among other things: “As Tayyip Erdogan, even if I am left alone, I will continue to defend the Palestinian struggle and be the voice of the oppressed Palestinian people as long as God gives me life.” Let the whole world hear it, he characteristically said with the audience of AKP deputies cheering and applauding.

He called Israel a terrorist state which commits genocide and which has been written as a shame in the history of mankind. “The terrorist state of Israel has been committing an inhumane genocide in both Gaza and the West Bank since October 7. With the unconditional support it receives from the West, Israel recklessly commits a massacre that has already been written in the history of humanity as a shame,” he said specifically.

Escalating his verbal attack against Israel, the Turkish president further said: “They killed 14,000 children, they have already surpassed Hitler. We will defend the independence of Palestine under all circumstances, despite those who do not see the death of 14,000 innocent children and try to curry favor with Israel by saying that Hamas is a terrorist organization.”

He also implied that there is an Israeli finger on all the coups or attempted coups that took place in Turkey since 1980: “Don’t forget the coup of September 12 (in 1980) that took place after the Jerusalem rally in Iconium, don’t forget the coup d’état of February 28 (s.b. 1997) that took place after the night (dedicated) in Jerusalem in Xinjiang, don’t forget the operation against MIT, the coup attempt on December 17/25 (s.b. the judicial corruption investigation and the police raid on the homes and offices of ruling party officials in 2013), the treason of July 15 (including the 2016 coup attempt) by the treasonous organization FETO, the servant of Zionism, for to bend our sensitivity towards Palestine”. At this point, he recalled that his own sensitivity to the Palestinian issue manifested itself 15 years ago in Davos, when he clashed with the Israeli president at the time, Shimon Peres, interrupting his speech with the phrase “one minute” that went down in history and then leaving the stage of the World Economic Forum.

At the same time, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey, Hakan Fidan, is making an official visit to Qatar today, who will meet in Doha with the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the country, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani.
