THE Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is calling for unity amid the ongoing war in Gaza and the “overall threat” from Iran, during meetings today with Israel’s security chiefs, The times of Israel reports.

“Internal division must disappear now because we are faced with an existential threat, to join forces,” he said.

“Netanyahu and Mossad spy agency chief David Barnea discussed various regional developments, including the importance of the release of more than 100 hostages held by terrorist groups in Gaza since October 7,” according to a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office.

Netanyahu then met with Shin Bet chief Ronen Barr, the statement added.

“We are committed to defeating the terrorist axis in Gaza, both to free the hostages and to counter the overall threat emanating from Iran. These are huge tasks that require two things: determination and unity,” the Israeli prime minister said during a meeting with Mossad officials.

“Nations are first disintegrated from within. Not from external pressure, but first of all from internal division,” he added.
