Explosions were heard near the Iranian city of Isfahan early in the morning. There was no official confirmation of an attack by the Israeli authorities.
State media in Iran said only that air defenses had been activated, playing down claims of an attack on a military site in the city, located about 315 kilometers south of Tehran.
