The Metropolitan Police have been put on alert after five horses belonging to the Royal Household’s cavalry escaped from their riders and began running through central London, one of which appears to be covered in blood in the images.

Five people were injured in the incident, with the information being confused, however, as to whether it was only the horse riders or the occupants of passing vehicles that the animals ran into.

The animals threw their riders, who were from Lifeguards and Blues & Royalsduring their daily morning exercise on Horseguards Parade, Whitehall.

The Metropolitan Police announced that “we are aware that there are many horses on the loose in central London and we are working with colleagues in the military to track them down”

At the same time, the police announced that so far he has tracked down and caught two of the horses near Limehouse in east London but is not sure how many are still at large.
