THE leader of Hamas at Gaza StripYahya Sinuar, inspected recently areas where fighters of the Palestinian Islamist movement clashed with Israeli soldiers, a senior Hamas official told the Qatari newspaper “The New Arab” or “Al-Araby Al-Jadeed”.

Sinwar leads the movement in the besieged Palestinian enclave and reports that he is “isolated in underground tunnels” are claims by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his services “to hide that they have failed (in their effort) to achieve the goals they announced in Israelis and their allies,” said the same official.

He claimed that Sinwar recently met with the movement’s fighters in Gaza – not in tunnels – and also briefed Hamas leaders abroad “with concrete numbers and reports from the battlefields” about the resistance’s ability to deal with the forces possession.

The Israeli Armed Forces (IDF) have expressed the belief that the leadership of Hamas, including Sinwar, is hiding in underground tunnels in the Gaza Strip.
