The split came after the announcement that the interim target to reduce emissions of hazardous pollutants by 75% by 2030 was scrapped, as it was deemed unattainable

He is currently the governing coalition of the Scottish National Party (SNP) and the Greens in Scotland, as reported in Edinburgh.
The decision was reportedly finalized at an emergency cabinet meeting this morning under local premier and SNP leader Hamza Yousaf. Official announcements are expected at a morning press conference.
The SNP intends to continue as a minority government, with whatever challenges this poses.

The rift followed last Thursday’s announcement by local government energy secretary Mary McAllan, who is from the SNP, that the interim target to cut emissions of hazardous pollutants by 75% by 2030 was being scrapped as unachievable.
Despite assurances of maintaining the ultimate goal of achieving zero emissions by 2045, the Scottish Greens have decided to hold a vote on possible withdrawal of support for the coalition government.
The Scottish government partnership agreement followed local elections in May 2021, bringing the Greens into power for the first time in any of the UK’s devolved governments.
