An Israeli military spokesman said warplanes had struck at least 25 locations in the Gaza Strip in recent hours, targeting military installations, weapons storage facilities and underground tunnels.
At least 22 Palestinians were killed and many others injured in Saturday’s Israeli airstrikes in the Gaza Strip, according to the Palestinian enclave’s security services.
Palestinian officials told Xinhua news agency that Israeli warplanes hit a house in the Nuseirat settlement in the central Gaza Strip with missiles, killing nine Palestinians – including four children – and injuring around 30 others.
In another Israeli airstrike, six Palestinians were killed – including four children – and eight others were wounded when a house in the southern part of the enclave was shelled, hospital sources said.
Israeli jets also hit a house on the northern outskirts of Rafah, where seven Palestinians were killed and several wounded were taken to a local hospital.
A spokesman for the Israeli army said in a post on the X platform (formerly Twitter) that warplanes struck at least 25 locations in the Gaza Strip in the last hours, targeting military facilities, weapons storage areas and underground tunnels. It also claimed that a site from which rockets were often fired at the Israeli city of Ashdod and a car carrying eight Hamas fighters were shelled.
Earlier, the health ministry in the Hamas-controlled Palestinian enclave announced that since October 7, at least 34,388 Palestinians have been killed and 77,437 wounded by Israeli strikes in the Gaza Strip.
