THE Donald Trump refused to make an explicit commitment that he will recognize the result of the presidential election in November, in which he will again face Joe Biden.

“If everything is done honestly, I would gladly accept the results,” the former president said in an interview with the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel of Wisconsin. “But if that doesn’t happen, then we have to fight for the good of the country,” he added.

Similar statements the 77-year-old tycoon had also done in the 2020 presidential elections. Trump never conceded defeat against Democrat Biden.

“In short: Donald Trump recommends danger to the Constitution and our democracy”, a representative of Biden’s campaign staff commented, referring to this interview.

In another interview, published Tuesday, Trump did not rule out the possibility of “political violence» after the elections. “If we don’t win, you know, it will depend,” he featured in Time magazine.

Trump supporters stormed Capitol Hill in January 2021 to block the ratification of Biden’s victory in that election. Trump himself is being prosecuted for his role in this attack and for attempting to overturn the result in the State of Georgia.
