While Israel expects an official response to what the US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken he called “extremely generous” truce offer and hostages, Israel’s Channel 12 citing unnamed Hamas sources, reports that the terrorist organization’s leader in Gaza Yahya Sinuar has three specific demands on the Egyptian mediators, which they are currently trying to resolve, including with the help of the US.

First and foremost, according to the broadcaster’s Middle East commentator Ehud Yaari, Sinuar, as he has done for months, demands a guaranteed end to the war. Specifically, he wants to “completely change” the clause in the proposal that calls for the start of negotiations for a sustainable calm in Gaza on the 16th day of the initial, 40-day phase of the ceasefire. Instead, he wants “a written commitment to an unconditional end to the fighting,” Yaari says.

Second, Sinwar opposes giving Israel the right to bar certain high-security Palestinian prisoners from the West Bank and instead send them to Gaza or exile.

And third, the leader of Hamas in Gaza wants details about materials which will not be allowed in Gaza for its reconstruction. Apparently, Yaari says, this is to ensure that Hamas will be able to rebuild its tunnels and other military infrastructure.

Meanwhile, its leader Ismail Haniya said in a telephone conversation with Egypt’s intelligence chief Abbas Kamel that the terrorist group was considering a proposed hostage deal with “positive spirit”, according to Israeli media on Thursday, citing a related statement from Hamas.
