Ten bodies were located in different areas of its port Acapulcoin the southern mexicowhich wraps the organized crimewas made known by the local Secretariat of Public Security.

Unknown people left the bodies of two women and four men on a boulevard near a market last night, the secretariat told reporters, adding that the rest of the bodies were found after various violent actions in other districts of the city.

According to local media, the six bodies found, which have not yet been identified, were thrown by unknown persons from a car.

Authorities later announced that they had found the bodies of three men and three people who had been injured after a shooting incident in the Emiliano Zapata neighborhood in the northern part of the city.

In addition, the body of another man, riddled with bullets, was found on the avenue along the coast in the tourist zone of Acapulco.

The popular tourist destination on the Pacific Ocean, which was devastated in late October by a cyclone, is located in the state of Guerrero, one of the worst affected by the criminal activities of the drug cartels. About 1,890 murders were recorded there in 2023.

On Friday, the dismembered bodies of four people were found in Acapulco. One of the victims was running for local office in the June 2 general election.

Cartel-related violence has claimed the lives of at least 450,000 people, while more than 100,000 people have gone missing since 2006, when President Felipe Calderon (2006-2012) launched a military offensive against drug traffickers.
