An uproar has been caused Memphis of Tennessee after local authorities decided to to auction the legendary Graceland (Graceland), home of the King of Rock Elvis Presley.

The legendary mansion – a place of “pilgrimage” for millions of Elvis fans from around the world – is going up for auction this Thursday at the Shelby County Courthouse.

Also located within the grounds of Graceland are the graves of Elvis Presley, his daughter Lisa Marie (the only child of Elvis Presley and Priscilla Presley.) and her son, Benjamin Keough.

Lawsuit by Lisa Marie’s daughter – Thriller with the auction

When her father died in August 1977, nine-year-old Lisa Marie Presley became an heir to his estate along with her grandfather, Vernon Presley, and her great-grandmother, Minnie Mae Hood Presley.

After the deaths of Vernon in 1979 and Minnie Mae in 1980, she became the sole heir to Graceland.

The 2004 Presley sold 85% of her father’s estate, of which she was the sole heir.

On January 12, 2023, Lisa Marie suffered a cardiac arrest and died at the age of 54.

After a legal battle with Priscilla Presley’s grandmother, Lisa Marie’s daughter Riley Keough was named the sole administrator of the family estate and current owner of Graceland.

The young actress is challenging the sale with a lawsuit, claiming it is “fraudulent.”

According to the legal notice, the late Lisa Marie Presley in 2019 allegedly used Graceland as collateral to secure a $3.8 million loan from a Missouri company called Naussany Investments and Private Lending

The company claims that Lisa Marie never paid the money before her death and so the mansion goes under the hammer.

However, Riley claims that her mother never borrowed money from the company, that her mother’s signatures are forged, and that Naussany Investments is not even a real company.

“These documents are fraudulent,” the lawsuit states.

According to Kiu’s attorney, a temporary restraining order on the sale was issued Monday, and a hearing on injunctions is set for Wednesday.
