Cyprus’s independent candidate for the 2024 European elections, Phidias Panagiotou, is packing his bags for Brussels, after the exit polls show him finishing third and occupying one of Cyprus’ six seats in the European Parliament.

The youtuber, in the first video he published on social media, notes that the battle has been won, while he makes his own poll about the place to organize a victory party.

“Perhaps this is the first time that an independent person is elected without having the slightest connection with a party, but with social media as his only weapon and nothing else,” the independent MEP candidate said visibly moved after the exit polls. Phidias Panagiotou.

As he pointed out in his first reaction after the announcement of the exit polls, today is a historic day not only for Cyprus, but also for the whole world.

Addressing the representatives of the parties, who were with him in the same studio, he pointed out that, “today’s event ladies and gentlemen of the parties, I want you to take it as a bell that rings to modernize, to remember that you serve the people and not your personal and party interests”.
