Biden: Russia will pay a heavy price for its invasion of Ukraine

by

US President Joe Biden said in an interview published on Saturday that comments from neutral Finland and Sweden about their possible membership in NATO show how wrong Russian President Vladimir Putin’s calculation was to invade Ukraine.

Mr Biden also predicted that Russia will pay a heavy price, both in the short and long term, because of its invasion of Ukraine, he added, adding that “this conflict brings Europe and NATO closer than ever.”

“Not only is NATO more united, look at what is happening with Finland, look at what is happening with Sweden, look at what is happening with other countries. “It produces the exact opposite effect of what it wanted,” Biden said in an interview with Brian Tyler Cohen, who is active and has a strong influence on social media.

“All I know is that we must continue on this path with the rest of our allies,” Biden said.

“My goal from the very beginning was to ensure that NATO and the EU are on the same wavelength. This is because I believe that one issue that Putin believed he could achieve was to break up NATO, creating a large opening for him to go through. “And that did not happen,” said the US president.
