“The EU condemns the shelling that destroyed the ICRC office in Gaza and caused dozens of casualties. An independent investigation is required and those responsible must be held accountable,” Borrell stressed
The EU’s foreign policy chief Joseph Borel today called for an investigation into the deadly bombings that damaged an office of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in Gaza.
“The EU condemns the shelling that destroyed the ICRC office in Gaza and caused dozens of casualties. An independent investigation is required and those responsible must be held accountable,” Borrell told X.
THE International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) reported yesterday in a post on X that projectiles from large-caliber weapons fell a short distance from its facility in the Gaza Strip, around which hundreds of displaced persons have taken refuge. She said her mobile hospital was overwhelmed by casualties on Friday afternoon, citing “22 dead and 45 wounded”.
In the announcement of the ICRC, it is underlined that attacks “so close to humanitarian structures, the locations of which are known to the warring parties and are clearly marked with the emblem of the Red Cross, endanger the lives of civilians and members of the staff of the Red Cross”.
