The Starlink satellite internet service was activated in Ukraine by Elon Musk with the SpaceX group, while as the company announced, it will send equipment to Ukraine.
“The Starlink service is now up and running. “Other terminals are on their way,” the head of Tesla and the SpaceX astronaut group wrote on Twitter.
Hours earlier, Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister Mikhail Fedorov had denounced the billionaire on social media, asking him to supply Starlink stations in Ukraine.
“While you are trying to colonize Mars, Russia is trying to occupy Ukraine! Your missiles may land successfully from space, but Russian missiles are attacking Ukrainian civilians! “We ask you to provide Starlink stations in Ukraine,” the Ukrainian official in charge of the digital sector wrote on Saturday morning.
He also called on Elon Musk to urge “Russians who have the brakes on their bodies” to oppose their government.
SpaceX on Friday launched a second shipment of about 50 Starlink satellites to provide an Internet connection to customers around the world.
It is not yet clear how users in Ukraine were able to receive the service on the ground.
