Rejecting claims he has now adopted the “language of defeat” by attacking Labour, Mr Sunak said he would continue to fight until the end of the election period.
Outgoing Prime Minister and Conservative leader Rishi Sunak repeated a warning that an “over-indulgence” by Labor in Thursday’s election would be bad for British citizens in an interview with the BBC this morning from a supermarket.
With opinion polls giving Sir Keir Starmer’s party a 20-percentage-point lead and a self-reliance hovering around 140 seats, Mr Sunack said voters risked hindsight to the reality of increased taxes in store for a Labor government.
Rejecting the claim that he has now adopted the “language of defeat” by attacking Labour, Mr Sunack said he would continue to fight until the end of the election period and noted that with massive self-reliance Labor would not have to be “accountable” to Parliament for their deeds.
In statements on Monday, he estimated that despite the opinion polls, an election result that would not give independence to Keir Starmer is possible.
As yesterday, he reiterated today that he recognizes that citizens are unhappy with him and the Conservatives, but called on them to consider the implications of a Labor victory on the country’s economic stability.
He reiterated that if he remains prime minister he will cut taxes, limit immigration and protect pensions, hinting that Labor will take a different stance on those three issues.
