Party Alternative for Germany (AFD)along with seven other far-right political groups from seven countries, today announced the creation of the “Europe of Sovereign Nations” group in European Parliament.

With 25 elected members, including 14 members from the Alternative for Germany (AfD), this new far-right political group will have two co-chairs, Rene Aust from the Alternative for Germany (AfD) and Stanislav Tiszka from the Polish Far Right, “Konfederacia” (Confederation).

“Europe of Sovereign Nations” consists of the following political groups:

• Alternative for Germany (AfD): 14 MEPs.

• Confederation of Poland: 3 MEPs.

• Rebirth of Bulgaria: 3 MEPs.

• The French party Reconquête: 1 MEP.

• Slovak Republic: 1 MEP.

• Freedom and Direct Republic of the Czech Republic (SPD): 1 MEP.

• Hungarian Movement for our Homeland: 1 MEP.

• Union of People and Justice of Lithuania: 1 MEP.

It is recalled that on July 8, the new far-right group was created “Patriots of Europe”, led by France’s National Rally and Hungary’s Fidesz, which replaces the old group Identity and Democracy. The “Patriots of Europe” group, with 84 elected members from 13 countries, is the third largest political group in seats in the European Parliament, after the EPP and the Social Democrats. The Frenchman Jordan Bardela was elected president of this group by the National Coalition, which has 30 MEPs. The group also consists of the following members: Hungarian Fidesz (11 MEPs), Italian League (8), Czech ANO (7), Czech Oath and Motorists (2), Austrian FPÖ (6), Dutch PVV (6), Spanish VOX (6), Belgian Vlaams Belang (3), Portuguese CHEGA (2), Danish People’s Party (1), Greek Voice of Reason (1) and Latvia First (1).

The Group of European Conservatives and Reformists (ECR) dominated by Giorgia Meloni’s “Brothers of Italy” with 24 MEPs, now counts 78 MEPs, after the departure of the 6 members of the Spanish Vox who chose to join the “Patriots of Europe” .
