A new incident involving damage to a Boeing comes to be added among many others, causing the passenger public to worry about the safety of flights. This time the wheel of an airplane Boeing 737 exploded during takeoff from Tampa International Airport.
Its flight 590 American Airlines was on the runway Wednesday morning when the plane suffered mechanical trouble, causing the right wheel to explode and catch fire.
The Dailymail video shows the aircraft taxiing down the runway engulfed in smoke after the tire was destroyed.
The Phoenix-bound flight had 174 passengers and six crew members on board, an American Airlines spokesman said. No one was injured in the incident.
The terrifying accident comes just two days after another Boeing jet lost its wheel while on the runway in Los Angeles.
An emergency team was dispatched to the airport on Taxiway W shortly before 8 a.m. Wednesday after the Boeing 737 jet’s tire exploded, a Tampa airport spokesman said.
Passengers and crew were “safely ejected” from the aircraft and transported by bus.
An American Airlines spokesman said the plane “experienced a mechanical problem on the runway” that “involved one of its tires.”
