“Biden doubted Harris’ chances of being elected president”
Will Kamala Harris or Donald Trump take over the presidency the day after the November 5th election? CNN’s Poll of Polls findings pitting Vice President Harris against former President Trump in the 2024 presidential election show, a derby, a “breast to breast battle” without one of the two politicians having a clear lead.
The CNN poll is an average of the six most recent independent (nonpartisan) nationwide surveys of registered or likely voters who meet CNN’s standards and are asked about the 2024 presidential election between Harris and Trump.
The Poll of Polls includes results from the CBS News/YouGov poll conducted July 16-18, the NBC News poll conducted July 7-9, the Fox News poll conducted July 7- July 10, the NPR/PBS News/Marist College poll conducted July 9-10, the ABC News/Washington Post/Ipsos poll conducted July 5-9, and CNN’s own poll conducted from June 28 to 30.
The results show Trump has 48% support in the average of six recent polls, while Harris has 47%. Notably, all of the polls were taken after last month’s CNN presidential debate, with only one — the CBS/YouGov poll — taking place after Trump’s July 13 assassination attempt.
Surveys involving third parties or independent candidates are not included. When a pollster has published multiple polls in that time frame, only the most recent is included in the average.
“Biden was questioning the chances of Harris being elected president” the website Axios reports in the meantime.
