Ten people were killed and 13 injured when a truck bomb exploded at a checkpoint in the northern Syrian city of Azaz, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights. Among the dead were four fighters from pro-Turkish forces, according to the London-based NGO but with a wide network of sources in Syria.

According to other reports, the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), led by Kurdish fighters, launched an attack with artillery shells in the same area.

Since 2016 the Turkish military has launched three ground offensives against Kurdish forces in northern Syria and controls a large section along the border.
