The non-governmental organization said it was still gathering information, clarifying that it believed its worker was off duty when he was killed near Deir al-Bala, in the central part of the Gaza Strip.
The US-based non-governmental organization World Central Kitchen (WCK) announced that a Palestinian staff member died on Wednesday in the Gaza Strip, four months after seven of its workers — six of whom were foreigners— in an Israeli bombardment of the Palestinian enclave, which caused a global outcry.
WCK named the victim as Nadi Salut, underscoring via X that he was “an integral member of the team managing our warehouse since the early days of our response to Rafah and a deeply humanitarian.”
The non-governmental organization added that it was still gathering information, clarifying that it believed he was off duty when he was killed near Deir al-Bala, in the central part of the Gaza Strip.
A WCK convoy was targeted by three Israeli airstrikes in the Gaza Strip on April 1, killing seven NGO workers, including US, Australian, British and Polish nationals.
Israel’s military has denied accusations it deliberately targeted workers at the international food aid organization, which temporarily suspended its work in the enclave, whose population is at risk of starvation according to the UN, after the bombing.
