Moscow has announced that an “anti-terrorist operation” has begun in three regions bordering the Ukrainea few days after greater incursion of Ukrainian troops into Russian territory since the outbreak of war, at the end of February 2022.

The National Anti-Terrorism Commission announced on Friday night the initiation of “anti-terrorist operations in the regions of Belgorod, Bryansk and Kursk, in order to guarantee the safety of citizens and to end the threat of terrorist acts committed by enemy sabotage groups.”

In the meantime, the governor of Lipetsk announced that a civilian was killed in a Ukrainian drone attack in the capital of the same name, some 300 kilometers from the border. The regional governor, Igor Artamonov, reported via Telegram that air defenses destroyed 19 Ukrainian drones overnight.

For its part, the Ministry of Defense in Moscow announced that 32 Ukrainian drones were shot down overnight, 26 in the Kursk region – between Lipetsk and Ukraine – and another six in the Yaroslavl region.

In Kurskthe public company Rosatom assured that o nuclear power plant it works smoothly. He also stated that he decided to reduce the number of workers at the construction site of a new nuclear power plant under construction, due to the state of emergency.

Across the border, a civilian was killed in Russian missile strikes in the city of Kramatorsk, Oblast Donetskwhere fighting is raging, and two others in the northeastern district of Kharkiv, officials said.

Donetsk regional governor Vadim Filashkin said the Russians hit “critical infrastructure” with a “missile” that suffered severe damage. He did not specify what kind of infrastructure, or which.

Yesterday, 14 people were killed and 43 others were injured in a supermarket bombing in Konstantinivkaalso in the Donetsk region, which Moscow says it has annexed, although it does not fully control.

At Kharkivtwo people were killed when a house was bombed, according to Ukrainian police.
