They missed the fateful flight and won life – The stories of passengers who, at the last minute, did not board the flight
In the wake of the 62-death plane tragedy that occurred yesterday in Brazil, the stories of the passengers of flight 2283 who narrowly escaped certain death from the strange game of fate are sensational.
A pair of overdue passengers who “narrowly” missed boarding the Voepass Airlines plane that crashed in Vinhedo, Brazil on Friday are “breaking their silence” still unable to realize their unexpected fortune in the face of their apparent, initially, misfortune. .
Adriano Assis had finished his shift at the hospital where he works and was running to catch his 11:56 am flight. to Cascavel Regional Airport in Cascavel, Paraná for São Paulo/Guarulhos International Airport.
Assis told Brazilian news agency G1 that he arrived at the counter at 9:40am. and noticed that there were no employees.
He stood there and drank a coffee while constantly looking at the departure and arrival screen to see if any flight information was coming up.
“When I realized it was already 10:30, there was a huge queue“, he remembers.
“I waited until about 10:40” he describes adding that then an employee informed him that no more passengers would board because an hour had already passed.
Assis said he begged to be allowed to board his flight back to Sao Paulo.
“At that moment, I argued with him…“, he says, summarizing that this man saved his life.
“He did his job because… if he hadn’t… I might not be in this interview“, he realizes.
Another young man said he and three friends were among 10 passengers waiting at the wrong gate and unable to board the flight.
He describes how he realized their mistake around 11 and when he got to the gate they wouldn’t let him get on the plane despite trying to convince them otherwise, insisting he had to leave.
After his pleas went unheeded, his departure was rescheduled for a later date.
