Russia vowed today to retaliate for recent Ukrainian strikes, notably a nighttime attack that left 13 injured in the Russian city of Kursk, the region of which has been the target, for six days, of an invasion by the forces of Kiev.

“The financiers and perpetrators of these crimes, including their overseers abroad, will have to answer. A tough response from the Russian armed forces will not be long in coming,” said the spokeswoman for Russian diplomacy. Maria Zakharova, in her Telegram post.

Meanwhile, the Russian military confirmed today that Ukrainian troops had advanced deep into the Kursk region, saying it had halted their advance near several communities located at a distance of 30 kilometers from the Ukrainian border.

In a press release, it confirmed that it had thwarted “infiltration attempts by … mobile armored units” of the enemy, near the communities Tolpino, Zuravli and Obchitsi Kolodez, which are located at a distance of 30 kilometers from Ukraine.

According to this source, these advances have been halted, in the last 24 hours, by air force, drone and artillery strikes and the deployment of reservists of the “North” group, which has been deployed in the Ukrainian region of Kharkiv.

In addition, the Russian military reported striking Ukrainian troops with missiles and artillery near the communities of Sunja, Korenevo, Staragia Sorochitsa and Borki, as well as preventing an infiltration into the Belovsky district further east.
