Russian guided bomb attacks have dropped sharply in the Kharkiv region
Russian forces have reduced the number of guided bomb attacks on border settlements in Ukraine’s southeastern Kharkiv region, the local governor said today, as Moscow’s troops battle to repel Ukraine’s border offensive in the Kursk region.
Russia has long pounded Ukrainian villages near the border with artillery and particularly devastating guided bombs. It stepped up its attacks in the Kharkiv region in May, when Moscow’s troops opened a new front in the northern part of the region.
“We have seen a sharp decrease in guided bomb attacks in recent days. If the border region used to see 30 to 60 guided bomb raids a day, today it is no more than 10Governor Oleg Sinekhubov said on state television.
He added that the Russia continues to attack civilian infrastructure and for this reason the authorities plan to tighten the curfew rules for about 100 settlements near the border and the front line.
Moscow denies targeting civilians or civilian infrastructure in its incursion into Ukraine.
Thousands of people have been killed and injured by its attacks.
At the same time, regional authorities in the neighboring Sumy region, which adjoins Russia’s Kursk region, reported an unprecedented number of airstrikes after the launch of the biggest incursion into Russia during the full-scale war that has been going on for more than 29 months. .
