The death toll from today’s bombing in the city of Chernihiv in northern Ukraine has now reached 22, Ukrainian emergency services have announced that talks between Kiev and Moscow in Belarus are continuing.
The bodies of at least 22 civilians were retrieved from the rubble after the Russian airstrikes, it is reported. Rescue operations are continuing.
Earlier, the governor of Chernihiv said at least nine people had been killed and four injured in an airstrike that hit two schools and private homes. The local press reported that there were several schools, kindergartens and a hospital nearby.
